Crazy Summer

This has got to be one of the craziest summers I can remember in a long time. We had about 2 weeks toward the end of July that were insanely dry and thats about it...the rest has been pure rain! Its sort of been great for us since we have so much digging ambition and great ideas that would normally have to wait until late fall and next spring to come alive. We started doing some serious damage to the fifth set in Only's. Brett carved out the lip and surfaced that sweetness with some cherry dirt like he was never gone and Keener, Fash, and Ryan went to town on the landing. It started coming together pretty quick in only an hour or two before we got hit HARD! We barely managed to get everything covered and put away till the rain hit. Thank god we had an extra piece of plastic to cover that fresh new lip. Probably head out this week and finish squaring up the 5th lip and hopefully get two or three heads there piling that landing. I wanna be sending that set by the end of next week (and the speed Brett's been throwing dirt with he can probably have that piled by himself by the end of the day today haha).

Probably have a photo update later this evening. I got ALL the pictures of the summer from J. Kim's camera loaded on my laptop so I'll pop a whole set of those on as soon as I get home from my daily grind.

PS someone remind Ryan that a Blazer wont start with the end of a carabiner!
And lastly is anyone other than us looking at this blog spot? Not that I really give a shit but if there are any randoms out there in Internet land checking us out from time to time...lay us a comment or something so we know your out there!

Cement?

Yep...you heard me right...I said cement! I'm doing our first non-trails related post.
A few of us hit up the York park yesterday. That place is incredible. And whats even more incredible is watching Yazzie zipping around every inch of it! I cant quite get a grasp on how the hell he rides that place like he does. Brett was back in action too...carving around and clearly having a blast. And last but not least we cant forget Mega Dan! He is one hard guy to photograph, those god damn tech tricks just dont translate well on stills but I managed to snag at least one good one.

Soaked Summer = August Digging!

From a riding point of view this summer is shaping up to be a bit of a shitty one with a ton of rain hitting almost daily...but in good news the trails are really coming up quick. More rain hit this weekend making the trails soaked and unsessionable but we did some more damage on Sunday and started piling the fifth set in the straight line over the 4th landing in Only's. That lip should be ready to rock and roll in another day or so of digging. Hopefully I'll get some pics Tuesday of the new shit getting built up.

Finished piling the new step-down landing today and started in on the next lip. Looks like it should turn out to be loads of fun and tons of speed. Heading to the trails tomorrow to hopefully finish the next lip and smooth the flat between the sets...who knows maybe we'll even send her tomorrow!

BMX Brett's new BMX BIKE!

Just got a quick cell phone snap of Brett's new bike. Nothing says BMX Brett like red bars, orange grips, and a purple fucking sprocket on a brown bike. Somehow he manages to pull it off well haha.

Hopefully the old sessions are back baby!

Rainy Sunday

Sunday's have been a bit too nice I guess...so this week the weather decided to open up a few hours after we all got there and let the rain rip. Rob and I both managed to get a few runs in and send the new flyers...DIALED Deluxes all around! Get at Matt and get yourself one http://www.myspace.com/literacybikes. I think everyone but Ryan has one at this point...and bmx is a sport of trends so get on the fucking train!

Anyway back to Sunday's news...we didnt manage to accomplish much but Ryan got a few shots of beer (as usual) and then we snapped off a few pics of my red rig and Black Rob's raw whip in the mud.

In the best news yet BMX Brett is back from his missions trip and ready to grip it and rip it! Lots of digging should be going on in the second half of the week after tomorrows rain. So come help or at least come out Sunday and welcome Brett home!
