Manheim Street is SICK!

Road street in Manheim. Won't be making that mistake again. But then again we likely won't be going to Skate It unless its super gross outside.

QVILLE

Got my digging fix in today. Helped the qville guys for an hour. Those dudes are killing it for as short an amount of time they've been building. Looks awesome and it'll definitely be tons of fun. A double jam weekend is in order if we get to keep Pitney.

Meeting

I finally have confirmation of our meeting with the city scheduled for May 3rd at 10:30. In either good news or really bad news we will be meeting with not only the director of public works but the business administrator, an operations official, the chief of police, and the mayor too! I'm genuinely hoping that we have a shot at this and knowing that it's not just the parks people means that we may have sparked an interest. I guess only time will tell. Thanks to everyone for the support. I'll be contacting people soon to determine our best choices moving forward. I would like to keep our group for this meeting to under 4 or so. But please if you have information or anything to offer get a hold of me.

The most serious post on this blog ever.

For those of you not in the loop with Pitney Woods. We got this little notice at the trails on either Monday or Tuesday...
Unfortunately, we all knew it was only a matter of time - and what makes matters worse is it happened just as we were starting to get some really big sets in tune. This is the fourth summer I believe, and now all of mostly Matt's hardwork is at stake.

When I got notice of this, I immediately called Jason Lonergan (Jaybone) of POSH and asked for advice. Basically he said there is still a chance, and the fact that they are giving us the chance to meet with them and discuss is a possibility of saving the woods. It's going to be a very stressful process, but it just might work. When I talked to Matt on the phone yesterday, I could literally hear the stress and shock in his voice as he talked. I know these woods mean the world to him more than anyone, and to have this happen is absolutely devastating to him.

I have a plan of action that I put in place today, and I will attend that meeting when it's setup absolutely ready to show them who we are, what we are about and that we're not just some punk kids who decided to dig in a park. We will not go down without a fight I promise you that. More will be posted as it's brought to light.

Brian Foster - 30th year anniversary

To all of us trail riders, the name Brian Foster is synonymous with style and flow. You know anything with BF in it is going to be fucking incredible. Seeing the dude ride on video, is nothing compared to seeing it happen in real life. I have a hard time getting motivated when he's in attendance simply because I just want to watch. Anyways; here is a link containing a look back, 30 years ago. http://blog.defgrip.net/2011/04/brian-foster-30-years-ago-today/comment-page-1/

Compression

If you haven't seen this movie you should. But this clip has an awesome scene at 3:43 in that I think is pretty sweet. Anyway watch it and enjoy.

New Premium frame!

I was lucky enough to snap this picture of Allan Semmont on his new signature Premium frame. For those of you who missed it (and im talking to everyone) his "Welcome" edit came out in November... or something like that. I looked for it, but it doesn't seem to exist. I'm sure it's just a mixup or something. Style for days, I think he should win all of the NORA cups next year. Anyways, I'm not sure what geometry his new signature frame is, but it looks a little stiff.

Slice of Heaven

I just wanted to post something, so why not a picture of POSH? This was taken this past month before reconstruction efforts really got underway. I was one of the first dudes down there this season with shovels in hand and between Jaybone, Bobby Ward, and myself we got alot reconstructed for just three people. Since then, alot of heads have been rolling down and by the looks of everything, she will be up and running sometime in May; weather permitting.

Gilly has been wanting to rebuild that 360 berm in the toilet bowl, but you better get to it before I do. That shit is sweeet and I want that running bad! I rebuilt some stuff in Qually next to it and was eyeing it up the entire time.
